All is well here in the house of Rone. My hospital stay was good...for staying in a hospital. The C section went great. The dr's and nurses as soon as it was over were all commenting on how smooth it went and how perfect of a c section it was. text book C section. That made me feel good. I remember them counting all their tools when it was over to make sure I didn't go home with a surprises in my stomach.
Danton was healthy from the get go. Chubby little guy, well more like fluffy. :) He got a 10 on his apgars or however you spell it.
It took me longer in the recovery room than it did Danton. They couldn't get my temp up. I was at 93. It was lower than that but that was the first temp they were able to read. so after an hour and a half of warm blankets and a machine called the bear hug to warm me up, they got me up to 97, and i could bend my knees ant toes a little bit too. That was amazing to me, it was a good 8-12 hours after Lydia was born that I could move anything.
The bear hug thing was a heated blanket. One side looked like an air hockey table with tons of holes in it and the other side had a port for a hose. They plugged the hose into it and turned on the machine and then the top side looked like giant bubble wrap. Tons of air pockets filled with warm air and the air came through the holes and warmed me up. That still took forever though.
Danton was born at 8:02 (7 lbs 8 oz 20 inches long) and by 8 that evening I got up and walked for the first time. Let me tell you i was surprised at how good I felt.
They put a shot of morphine in my IV and that lasted 24 hours. The only side effect was it made you itch. So I was feeling very little pain but constantly scratching my face (till I got full feeling in my lower half then EVERYTHING itched) I didn't complain, itching is WAY better then pain.
I didn't sleep great that night, and by 6 I got up and walked down the hall. I felt a little more pain that time. Then they took my cathader out and I had to get up to go to the bathroom an hour and a half later. Let me tell you I didn't know I could hold that much pee in me. It took FOREVER on the toilet cause I couldn't really use my muscles yet, but I think there was a good 4 cups that I peed out.
So Friday I basically slept a lot cause of my meds, but I felt better each time I got up. I walked around my room a lot, and sat in a real chair instead of the stupid bed. And Saturday I got to go home around 2. It took a while to get all the papers signed and everything.
Lydia came home with us Saturday, that was interesting seeing as how she didn't take a nap. Sunday morning Grandma came a got her, so she is with grandma and Grandpa Adams for a few days.
Danton LOVES to eat. HE is a grazer. He sleeps great at night which is nice. Our only problem is he wants to wait 30 mins to an hour between sides. So He woke me up about 5 times, last night, but that might be different when my milk comes in.
I am already feeling like I want to take over the counter meds instead of my prescriptions. I'm moving around just fine, just walking a little slow. I can get in and out of bed by my self with out too much trouble. My back is just really sore from being tense the last couple days every time I walked. But I'm feeling so much better every day. It's hard to take it easy and just sit on the couch like my Dr said, but I'm being a good girl. I don't want to slow my progression any.
So that's it. We are feeling pretty darn good.

Thanks for reminding me of all reasons I shouldn't have done this, and for the cute pictures letting me know why I am.
Hooray that everything went so well. I hope you continue to heal quickly. Congratulations on making it through childbirth! Danton looks so sweet and fluffy, I really really want to kiss his little cheeks.
Hey Sarah (and Family) Congrats! Danton looks like a cute little guy! You'll have to add some more pictures! :)
I hope recovery continues to go as smoothly as it sounds like it's started!

Hey I wanted to know if you've decided on a movie yet?
If you can't think of what you want, I have a few sugestions...like newsises is one that I've NEVER found for under 10. So that may be a good one to get. Remember you've got $20. I'll probably just buy it off amazon and ship it to your house, or Walmart and ship it to the store closest to you guys. Let me know!
say hi to the fam for me!
oh yeah, I totally forgot you said you were going to do that for me. I'll think on that, now that I am thinking more clearly.
I have a few more pictures of us at home, I'll try to post them tomorrow.
Congrats guys!! I am really excited for you. I see little Danton is almost as chubby as big Danton:). However, I thought we had agreed to call him D.J. and not curse the poor little guy j/k. Good job anyway and I hope you are all feeling well.
P.S. Mark, I got my first elk this last year, just thought i'd let you know.
Glad to hear you are doing well. He looks like such a little man!! So cute. Congrats!! Keep us updated on how it is with two little ones.
