Toy guitars

2 more projects off my list! Danton loves to play the banjo, in fact he uses everything as a banjo. Mostly the blinds to the sliding back door, and Lydia's kitchen pots. I decided he needed his own that he could play cause he loved playing my little cookie tin banjo, but he is always turning the tuning pegs....very annoying. So I found a cool car hood shaped tin at the thrift store for 29c (yeah, can't beat that) and I had a scrap of 2x4 to use for the neck. Then I realized it wasn't fair to just make one for Danton and not one for Lydia, so we started looking at pictures to see what she wanted. She picked a heart guitar. So I ripped the 2x4 down the middle and I now had enough for 2 guitars/banjos. I just cut a heart out of a piece of scrap (I love scrap!) Cut everything out with my jig saw, and routed the corners smooth, spray painted the heart and then put them together yesterday.
They LOVE them. Since then they have used them for a: guitar, banjo, lawn mower, vacuum, people, power tools, ramps, some sort of vehicle to ride on, a car to push...ect.

My Birthday

Well lets start off a few days BEFORE my birthday. I got started cleaning my room while Danton was taking a nap. And getting started turned into deep cleaning. Well he finished his nap before I finished cleaning. And Danton know when is a good time to get into things he is not suppose to. He was hungry, so he got into the fridge. Hum, what to eat, what to eat...PARMESAN CHEESE YES!!!
I would very much like to say my kids are weird and I have no idea where they get that from....but well I can't say that.
So Danton dumped it on the kitchen floor and proceeded to lick it off the floor. YUM. Not quite what I'd pick for a snack, but whatever. Seriously folks it was all over the place. When I came out I was not done yet, I still needed about 10 more minuets so instead of frustrating my self and yelling I took a picture and ignored it. :)
Next time I might yell a little bit, cause I guess he thought that since he didn't get in trouble that it was ok, cause he did it again the NEXT day, only this time it traveled to the living room. ....well at least it vacuumed up.

I had a good birthday. Last week I went on line to see what free stuff I could get, I signed up for a few things with my junk mail, and went to printing coupons. Saturday morning we loaded up and went to IHOP. I LOVE pancakes. Always have. Especially with strawberries. Seriously one of my favorite meals. So I was loving the IHOP coupon for a free Rooty Tooty Fresh N Fruity. (2 pancakes with a fruit topping and cool whip, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage) And I had 2 coupons. mark and I ate free, and we got each of the kids one pancake and an OJ. We werent charged for the oj, so I said somethign when I went to pay for the meal, and they were starting to get busy, so he still didnt charge us for it. So we spent $5 on breakfast (including a tip) and off to Wal Mart. There was something we needed, oh yes, spark plugs WAHOO! (And Mark needed to get a nice cheese cake pan, so I let him. :) )
Then we took the kids to Bass Pro cause they were being good. We got home about 15 mins before the first session of conference started! YES! I sat down to chill for a few mins, Mark was out side so Lydia went and checked the mail. " MOM!!! You got a PRESENT!!!" I could hear her from inside. Sure enough, it was even wrapped in fun paper. It was from Aunt Ris! She sent me a 4 disc box set of Charlie Chapplin movies! I LOVE Charlie Chapplin. Some day I will go as Chapplin for Halloween, I have most of the costume, but I'm missing the hat and cane. Random I know, but he's a classic.
So then I got distracted and called Marisa to tell her thanks. Then she asked "so how come your not watching conference?" ha ha ha OH YEAH, I knew there was something I was suppose to be doing. So I missed the song and prayer, but I got all the talks. :)
Then between sessions I made the other shelf for my pantry. Danton and Lydia had to come help.
Then later I had to go BACK to Wal Mart cause we forgot to get cream cheese, and you can't make cheese cake with out cream cheese, (actually Mark made my cheese cake for me on Sunday, we ran out of time Saturday. And it was one KILLER cheese cake!!!)and Mark was going to mow the lawn, but the mower needed gas, so I had to get a gas can too. Danton came to help.
Mark even had enough time to mow shower and eat dinner before Priesthood session! So he left for Priest hood, I got the kids in bed while talking on the phone with my sisters. YAY Birthday phone calls! And then I put on a netflix movie that we've had for a week and a half cause I never had time to watch anything but Kid movies (yay) And I pulled out ANOTHER project. I got some pretty molding and I'm going to make a frame for one of my mirrors. (I acquired two BIG mirrors and I use my glass cutter to cut them to the size I want. Last time I needed a mirror I was left with a few scrap pieces, one being 1 ft by 2ft, and that is the mirror that I am wanting to frame) ANYWAY I spent the whole time marking and re-marking measurements for routing and cutting. Trying to figure out the best way to go about making it. I think I have it all figured out now, and this week I"m going to cut into my $13 piece of molding. :)
Then As I was waiting for Mark to get home I got ANOTHER birthday phone call from Garry.
I had a GREAT day!
Today I got my Pantry ALL organized. I'm SO excited about that, I've never had enough space for all my food storage, and I've been wanting to add shelves ever since we moved in here. And I FINALLY got it done! Not only do I have enough room for all my food, but I have ROOM TO SPARE!!! ----LOVE IT---

Ultrasound...finally

GIRL GIRL GIRL GIRL GIRL!!! We are having a girl! YAY! So far we have been right with all 3. We had the ultrasound on Tuesday, and let me tell you, with the other two it was really easy to tell what we were looking at with the ultrasound at around 20 weeks. But at 33 weeks the baby is a LOT bigger. She didn't all fit on the screen at once. PLUS she is a constant mover. We got some good profile pics though. I'm just too lazy to scan them cause the scanner is in another room, and I have to bring the lap top in there.....hey give me a break, I'm 7 1/2 months pregnant. :)
And I have about 5 1/2 weeks left! YAY! C section May 9. Oh yeah, her name. Her name is Arissa Raquel.

Lydia's Husband

For over a year, possibly almost 2 years Lydia's Husband has been Edward. Edward from the movie Enchanted. They had 2 kids, Her daughter Boo (from Monsters Inc) and her son Klonka (no idea). She talks about her family all the time. Once she even told me that me and Daddy get to babysit Boo and Klonka so her and Edward could go on a kid date. ...Lucky me.
Well a couple weeks ago She had a different husband. Her new husband was Superman. I asked what happened to Edward.
"I just got him dead, so now I can marry Superman" Oh, you got him dead, that's all.... Later when she was telling Daddy about her new husband she got more specific. I don't remember how she said it but basically Edward was getting dead, so she can marry superman, but he is not dead any more. She does however still have her kids. Mark started calling her a Black Widow, which I guess couldn't be more true cause today she informed me that Superman was getting dead, but he isn't dead now, but now she is married to Batman.
One Prince, and two super hero's. This girl has high expectations I guess. :)

on the down hill

I'm 30 weeks, almost 7 months. I had my Dr visit yesterday and I'm having another ultrasound in 3 weeks. I'm so excited to FINALLY find out for sure that we are having a girl (if I'm wrong will come back and edit that out :) ) If you are wondering why it's taken so long to have an ultrasound it's cause I had an early one, only 2 are covered, so the normal one at 20 weeks was skipped. If we are having a boy I'm going to have a very hard month and a half with 4 year old girl. This girl has already made big plans for her and her sister, including sleeping in bunk beds. Do you know how excited she gets when she see bunk beds?!?! It's pretty cute really.
I also ask my Dr to schedule my C Section. I'm having a family reunion in May with ALL my sibling sfor the first time in the last 5 years, and possiably the last time for SEVERAL more years to come. Our schedules are all going in opposite directions. May is the ONLY time this year where we could all manage to get together. The reunion is set for the weekend just before my brother goes to boot camp. We are ALL getting VERY excited for this. The only thing that makes me a little sad is that laughing is going to HURT. Do you know how much my family laughs when we are all together?!?! I'm not talking a little chuckle chuckle, I'm talking busting a gut. Unfortunately my gut will have been busted a week and a half before and wont be able to take much busting. Doc only wanted to schedule me a week early :( I was hoping for closer to 2 weeks, but oh well. At least it's not the week of.
I thought that scheduling this would calm my nerves, but who was I kidding? Seriously how do you NOT get nervous, even just a little before going in for surgery. So in the mean time I'm praying for a similar recovery to what I've had with Lydia and Danton. By a week and a half I no longer needed my Rx pills, just over the counter stuff when needed. And I really was feeling pretty good, just quicker to get tired then normal.
The activities we have planned for the reunion are all things I can just sit for. I'll be carted around and then I'll sit in a chair, and tend the baby. I'll have plenty of help with the other 2.
So there you have it. I'm on the last leg of pregnancy now, and I couldn't be happier. Only about 8 1/2 weeks to go!

Birthday #2

So 2 weeks after Lydia's birthday, we have Danton's. We celebrated on Sunday cause Uncle Marshall was coming over with his Date for lunch, se we decided to have Danton's birthday party with them.
What a hansom 2 year old!
He got a truck cake
Then time for presents!Sun glasses

TOOLS!!!!...NO, he won't cause any trouble....At least he was nice enough to share. :)

4th Birthday

For Lydia's 4th birthday she got to have a party at our house and invite some of her friends. She invited Aunt Lilly, Aleena, and Alanah. (talk about confusing with the names SHEESH) She had been planning her birthday party for weeks, since...before Christmas. She wanted to wear dress ups, and dance to music in the living room, and eat high 5 pizza (which is regular pizza, we just call pizza high 5 pizza...it started a while ago, as a little song we would make up and sing when we would have pizza for dinner), and she wanted a Cinderella and a castle cake.
So at one point I think all 4 girls were in dress ups, she DID turn on music and dance in the living room, we had a high 5 pizza pic-nick on the floor, AND she had a Cinderella cake (made out of rice krispies of course.) And the wall behind Cinderella is suppose to be a castle wall, but it was not thought out well. Also something I forgot about while making the cake was a place for the candles. You can't just slip a candle down into a rice krispy treat like you can cake. I manged to get all 4 in, but they were all with in an inch of each other, so it was more like a torch then 4 candles. But EH, it worked. She loved it.
