Lydia was fairly easy to potty train when it came down to it. When it got down to going to underwear cold turkey she had only a hand full of accidents EVER and they were all on hard surfaces, no furniture or carpets to clean. It was awesome. Now however, 2 YEARS LATER we are starting to have issues.
Let me first say that I KNOW this girl can hold it. On our way home from Cincinnati last year (almost to the day) We were 2 hours away from home and we had just stopped an hour before, She said she needed to go potty. I offered her a diaper to go in, but I was NOT about to stop AGAIN. Long story short, she held it for 2 HOURS at PANIC STAGE. I was very impressed.
Just over oh say the last 2 months Lydia has decided that it's just not worth it to stop playing JUST to go potty. And we have been having LOTS of wet panty's. yay fun.....
Mostly it's while she is in dress ups, or at either Grand parents house playing with cousins, or out side.
First the punishment was no dress ups till she has 3 consecutive days with out pee in her pantys. That worked....till the 3 days were up and she got them back.
Anyway long story short after 2 irritating months of trying to convince her that wetting your pants is yucky and makes you smell yucky (and no change in her behavior) We have come up with a new punishment. Cold bath to clean the yucky smell off, spanking, and no more what every she was doing when she ignored the call of nature.
Yesterday we had to leave Granny and Papa's EARLY before dessert even cause we had nothing clean for her to wear, DRAMA. Got home, cold bath, DRAMA. (no spanking yesterday, but she has been warned)
Today her car seat cover needed to be washed since she rode home with wet pants and I decided that I was NOT doing her pee laundry. So SHE separated her FULL hamper, pulled the clothes to the laundry room, filled the washer, and just now changed the laundry and started the dryer. She also helped me scrub the bathroom today. And I must say, she did a good job helping.
So if she is going to create more messes, she is going to earn more responsibility.
Child labor starts young. :)

yay for child labor!! But think how awesome she will be later when she has roommates and actually knows how to take care of herself (and hopefully no longer having accidents - unless her roommates are hilarious and make her laugh so hard she just can't help it...it happens).
Yeah! Keep that girl a cleanin! We do cold showers when they wet pants too much. And mikey's job is to scrub the toilet and the floor around it cause he tends to miss.
